How to: Fix your site if your URL has been changed

Process description

This article explains how to resolve a “License expired” error shown in SharePoint Sapiens App Health even though a valid license exists.
The issue typically occurs after the SharePoint site URL has changed (for example, due to migration, renaming, or restructuring). The Sapiens app detects a mismatch between the stored site URL and the current site URL, which can incorrectly trigger a license validation error.

  • Access to the affected SharePoint site

  • Permissions to view Site contents and open Sapiens app settings

  • SharePoint Sapiens Event Management or Employee Training Management app installed

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Open the affected SharePoint site
Navigate to the SharePoint site where the license error is displayed.
  2. Go to Site contents
Select Settings (⚙️) → Site contents.
  3. Open a Sapiens list
    • Click Scheduled Events (Event Management), or

    • Click Scheduled Training Events (Employee Training Management)

  4. Open Sapiens app settings
In the list, select Sapiens app settings.
  5. Review the site URL warning
A message is displayed indicating that the site URL has changed.
  6. Fix the URL mismatch
Click the provided option to fix or update the site URL.
  7. Verify App Health
After the fix is applied, return to Sapiens App Health and confirm that the license error is resolved.

Tips and best practices

  • This issue commonly occurs after:

    • Site migrations

    • Tenant-to-tenant moves

    • Site renaming or URL restructuring

  • Always open Sapiens app settings after a site move to ensure configuration consistency.

  • If multiple Sapiens sites were migrated, repeat these steps for each affected site.

  • Keep your SharePoint Sapiens apps up to date to avoid related configuration issues.

Next steps

  • Confirm that all Sapiens functionality (events, enrollments, emails) works as expected.

  • Monitor App Health for any additional warnings.

  • If the issue persists, contact SharePoint Sapiens support and provide the site URL and App Health details.
