Applies to: SharePoint List Filter Web Part for SharePoint on premise (SP2010, SP2013, SP2016, SP2019)
We have added a new feature to the List Filter Web Part. The distinct lookup values feature allows you to group multiple occurrences of a specific value into one option in the filter dropdown, whereas before you would see all occurrences of this value. This is because the filter displays each occurrence according to the ID from the lookup field, which may or may not have the same value.
You can see how the feature works below.
This is what happened before the update. The Contact Person:Company field contains just one distinct value, but it is repeated in the filter dropdown. With the new update it is now possible to change this. First you must select edit page from the settings menu.
Then open the dropdown menu for the web part and click on edit web part.
In the filter details section, you now have the “Distinct Lookup Values” option.
With this option selected you can now see that there is only one value in the filter dropdown.
How to obtain and upgrade
The new version is published as the latest setup. The download contains one setup for SharePoint 2010 and one for SharePoint 2013.
To upgrade to the new version, run the setup and choose repair after the system check.
If you don’t have a valid license, you can get a trial key on the product page.
We hope you find these new features useful. If you have problems installing the new updates or any other questions, please send an e-mail to [email protected].
