Follow this guide if you want to create recurring events in an Employee Training Management SharePoint site
Prerequisites
Make sure you have the app SharePoint|sapiens Modern User Interface version 1.3.103.0 or higher installed. After installing the latest version, open the Site Contents view on your SharePoint site, click on the app SharePoint|sapiens Employee Training Management, click on Change Settings and save the settings again.
Add the Repeat/Recurrence columns to the training event form
If you want to create recurring events, add the columns Repeat, Repeat Until and Recurrence Details to the Training Event content type in the list Scheduled Training Events. Open the list settings, click on Training Event in the content type section, click on Add from existing site or list columns, select the 3 columns, and click on OK.
Now click on Column Order and move the 3 columns so that they show up below End Time.
Add the Recurrence Details column to the training events views
Open all the views in the list Scheduled Training Events and add the column Recurrence Details.
Create a new recurring event
If you now create or modify a training event, you can configure if the event should be repeated every day, every workday, every week, every month or ever year…
… and the date until the training event should be repeated.
Recurring events in a view/webpart
To display the recurrence details in a list view, just add the column ‘Recurrence Details’.
If the recurrence details column is part of a list view and you display the list view on a page using the web part ‘List view or events’, recurring events will show up with a recurrence icon, if the filmstrip or compact view is configured.
Other view types like Tiles or List View will display the ‘Recurrence Details’ column.
What is missing?
The modern user interface does not offer you all the options that you are used to from the classic SharePoint calendar or from an Outlook appointment. You can only repeat the event every day, weekday, week, month, or year. More complex patterns like ‘Every 2nd Thursday and Friday every month’, etc. cannot be used. It is also not possible to change or remove specific occurrences, you can only change the entire pattern and the ‘Repeat Until’ date.
