How to: Install the SharePoint Filter Web Part 3.0

Applies to SharePoint Filter Web Part 3.0.

Installation

Log on to one of your SharePoint farm’s servers as an Administrator. Download the setup to a local folder and unzip the folder E-Mail. The content should look like this:

1. Install the new Framework, run SetupFramework.exe

You can check if this version of the sapiens.at SharePoint Framework is already installed when you take a look at the installed and deployed farm solutions in SharePoint central administration. Setup will do this for you anyway. SharePoint Filter Web Part 3.0 is built on the 2.3 version of the sapiens.at SharePoint Framework.

Note: Please recycle application pools after every setup you execute to make sure the w3wp processes load the most recent assemblies.

2. Install the Solution, run Setup.exe

Now you’ll need your license key. A trial key is always available from the download button at the product page: http://www.sapiens.at/en/products/pages/filter-webpart-for-sharepoint-2010.aspx.

Note: Please recycle application pools after every setup you execute to make sure the w3wp processes load the most recent assemblies.

Reasons why setup might fail:

Expired or used trial key

If you enter an expired or used key the Setup will report a “Violation”. Visit the product page to obtain a new trial key.

Another trial key of the same Product has already been used on this system

Setup does not allow installing two trial keys for the same product and reports a violation. It is no problem if you want us to extend the trial period. Please send an e-mail to support@sapiens.at. We have to adjust individual settings for the key. Then re-run Setup again and choose repair.

Setup can’t connect to the key validation service

If your SharePoint has no access to the internet the setup will not succeed. But you will find a file named unvalidatedSurety_sapiens.at.SharePoint.FilterWebPart[3.0].xml in the setup directory. This file is created during setup and is designated to support offline key validation. Take this file, attach it into an e-mail and send it to support@sapiens.at. We’ll return the validated file as fast as possible. The validated file is named validatedSurety_sapiens.at.SharePoint.FilterWebPart[3.0].xml. Place it into the directory where you found the other file and run Setup.
